Fort Berens Estate Winery 'White Gold', British Columbia
Readers rated this wine:
Golden, toasted, fresh.
The White Gold is a reserve tier wine made at the Fort Berens Lillooet winery from estate Chardonnay grapes; it was aged in French oak barrels for 9 months.
It has a rich gold colour with notes of yellow apples and lemon curds, matchstick and toasted biscuits with roasted spices. The palate is also toasty; browned butter and grilled lemons, spiced nuts, and toasted oak with vanilla. Good freshness here, nice weight and not woody. The finish is long and warm.
Pair: roast chicken, polenta with brown sage butter. ©copyright 2020 Daenna Van Mulligen
